Microsoft Outlook 98

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Microsoft Outlook 98 or Express configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Outlook 98 or Express
2) From the drop-down menus, select Tools-Accounts

3) Click the Mail tab, then on the Add button and select Mail

4) In the Display name box enter your name as you wish it to appear at the recipient's end

5) Click Next
6) In the Email address box enter your email address
(ex: your username@uSurfer.net)

7) Click Next
8) Enter the mail server information as shown below

9) Click Next
10) Make sure Logon using: is selected and enter the information as shown below. Note: your password will echo as asterisks. Be sure you enter your password correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.

11) Select Next
12) In the Internet mail account name box, enter a "friendly name" for your account.

Note: This can be anything you want. If setting up multiple accounts you may want to give each account a slightly different name, i.e. "Yourdomain.com-Bob", "Yourdomain.com-Mary" etc.

13) Select Next
14) Select Connect using my phone line

15) Select Next
16) Select Use an existing dial up networking connection and make sure the connection name for YourDomain.com is selected.

16) Click Next
17) Click Finish to save your settings

You are now ready to send and receive email using Outlook 98. For program function and features, consult your Outlook 98 "Help" files, or contact Microsoft Technical Support Online at http://www.microsoft.com/Support/

 

Netscape Communicator

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Netscape Communicator configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Netscape Messenger.
2) Select Edit
3) Select Preferences
4) Select Mail & Groups from the menu. It may be necessary to click
on the (+) sign in order to reveal the sub-groups
5) Select Identity and enter your account information as below:

6) Select Mail Server from the menu
7) Click the Add button to enter the Incoming Mail Server information. Enter mail.uSurfer.net as the Server Name and choose POP3 as the Server type. Enter your username followed by @uSurfer.net and click OK, then enter the information for your outgoing mail server. The outgoing mail (SMTP) server is also mail.uSurfer.net. Enter your username followed by @uSurfer.net and click OK at the bottom.

8) Select Groups Server from the menu
9) Enter the news server name as shown below

10) If desired, choose a news group folder (the default is O.K.)
11) Click OK

Your Netscape Communicator/Netscape Messenger is now configured to send and receive email and use newsgroups.

Internet Mail Setup

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Internet Mail configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Internet Mail
2) Select Mail and Options
3) Click on the Server tab
4) Enter your information as shown below.

Note: Passwords and usernames are case-sensitive so be sure and enter your them carefully. Your email address should be (your username)@uSurfer.net and your mail server addresses (SMTP & POP3) should be mail.uSurfer.net Also the account name should be (your username)@uSurfer.net.

5) Click on the Connection tab
6) Make sure I use a modem to access my e-mail is selected and that the Dial-Up Networking connection associated with your customers account appears in the box. If it does not, click on the arrow and select your connection.

Note: during your setup, you may have selected a different name for your connection (i.e. "My Connection", "Home", "Connection to 3360777", etc.). Select the connection name associated with your account.

7) Click Apply and OK to save your settings.

You are now ready to begin sending and receiving email with Internet Mail. For advanced program features and instructions, consult Internet Mail's "Help" files or contact Microsoft Support Online at: http://www.microsoft.com/Support/

 

Microsoft Outlook or Exchange

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Microsoft Outlook or Exchange configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Microsoft Outlook or Exchange
2) From the drop-down menus, select Tools-Services
3) If Internet Mail appears on the list of services, highlight it and select Properties and go to Step 6

4) If Internet Mail does not appear, select Add

5) After selecting "Add" select "Internet Mail" and click OK then go back to Step 3

6) After selecting Properties, on the Services tab enter your account info as shown below

*note: Your email address should be (your username)@uSurfer.net and your internet mail server address should be mail.uSurfer.net. Your account name should be (your username)@uSurfer.net.

7) After entering the information as above, click on Advanced Options
8) Enter the name of the outbound (SMTP) mail server as shown in the example below

*note: the outbound mail server name should be mail.uSurfer.net

9) Click OK 10) Click on the Connection tab

11) Make sure Connect using the modem is selected. Under Dial using the following connection make sure that your dial-up networking connection is selected. If it is not, click on the down arrow on the right-hand side of the box and select your connection.

Note: during setup you may have chosen another name (i.e. "My Connection", "YourDomain.com", "home", etc.) for your connection. Just select whatever name is associated with your dialup.

12) Click Apply and OK to save your settings

You are now ready to begin sending and receiving email with Microsoft Exchange or Outlook 97. For program features and functions, consult your Outlook "Help" files or contact Microsoft Technical Support online at: http://www.microsoft.com/Support/

 

Eudora Lite Setup

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Eudora Lite configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Eudora Lite
2) Select Tools and Options (on earlier versions of Eudora select Special and Configuration)
3) On Category select Getting Started
4) Enter your account information as shown below.

Note: be sure to enter the POP account information in the format (your username)@uSurfer.net

5) On Category select Hosts
6) Under SMTP enter mail.uSurfer.net (leave other fields blank)

7) Click OK

You are now ready to send and receive email using Eudora Lite 3.0. Once connected to the internet via your dial-up networking software, click on the Check Mail icon and enter your password (the same as your network logon password) to check mail.

Eudora Pro Setup

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Eudora Pro configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Eudora Pro
2) Select Tools and Options
3) On Category select Getting Started
4) Enter your account information as shown below

*note: return address should be (your username)@uSurfer.net , the incoming mail server should be mail.uSurfer.net, and the logon name should be (your username)@uSurfer.net

5) On Category select Sending Mail

*note: the return address should be (your username)@uSurfer.net and the domain to add should be uSurfer.net

6) For SMTP server enter mail.uSurfer.net
7) Click OK to save your settings

Pegasus Mail Setup

These instructions are intended to help our customers who are running Pegasus Mail configure their software to be able to use there Email with us.

1) Open Pegasus
2) From the Tools menu, select Options
3) Under Categories select General Settings
4) Enter your name and reply address as shown

5) Under Categories select Network configuration
6) Enter your POP3 host, User name, Password, and SMTP host as shown

Note: POP3 host is mail.uSurfer.net, username is (your username)@uSurfer.net,and SMTP is mail.uSurfer.net

7) Click OK to save your settings. If you are new to Pegasus, you may want to click on the Tutorial button to run the Pegasus tutorial.
